Supporting children and families in the language they're most comfortable in.

Mandarin & Cantonese Paediatric OT

At Hope Kids OT, we believe every child deserves support delivered in the language their family calls home. Our multilingual team includes eleven occupational therapists who speak Mandarin (普通話), Cantonese (廣東話) or both — serving families across our Melbourne clinic locations with the same award-winning standard of care for every child we see.

Whether your child is navigating an autism diagnosis, managing sensory differences, developing motor skills, or building confidence in daily life, our experienced clinicians can work with your whole family — without a language barrier.

Why Language Matters In Children's Therapy

When children receive therapy in their home language, and when parents can discuss their child's goals, progress and strategies without needing to translate everything — outcomes improve. Our Chinese-speaking clinicians don't just communicate in Mandarin and Cantonese. They understand the cultural context that shapes how families experience disability, development and the therapy process. That means better goal-setting, stronger family involvement and more meaningful progress.

This matters especially for:

  • Families who are more comfortable expressing concerns in Mandarin or Cantonese
  • Children who are bilingual or primarily speak Chinese at home
  • Parents who want to carry therapy strategies into daily life at home — and need to understand them clearly to do so
  • Newly arrived families navigating Australia's NDIS and allied health systems for the first time
