Implementing School-Wide Programs
Another critical component of this tier is the implementation of school-wide programs such as The Zones of Regulation and Sensory Accommodations within the school’s environment. These programs are integrated into daily school routines, providing a consistent framework for promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour across all classrooms.
We help educators and teachers integrate sensory accommodations, emotional regulation techniques, and positive behavioural interventions into their daily routines. Through our training, teachers gain the confidence and expertise needed to create structured, supportive environments that promote student engagement and success.
Consultancy Support for Classrooms
Our consultancy services provide additional, customised support to teachers within their classrooms. We work directly with educators in their respective classrooms to address specific challenges faced by a student or group of students. This ongoing support helps teachers apply practical strategies that improve classroom dynamics and enhance students’ ability to engage and succeed.
School and Kindergarten Screening
School and Kindergarten Screening represents the second tier of our approach, focusing on early identification and intervention. These screening services are designed to detect potential developmental delays or emerging needs for occupational therapy, ensuring that children receive timely support that aligns with their developmental milestones. By identifying these challenges early, we help children achieve better outcomes in their educational and personal development.
Early Intervention for Developmental Delays
Our early intervention screenings are critical for identifying developmental delays in young children. By conducting these assessments, we can pinpoint areas where a child may need additional support, allowing for timely interventions that address these challenges before they impact their ability to learn and grow.
School Readiness Assessments
Preparing children for their transition into school is essential, and our school readiness assessments aim to evaluate a child’s preparedness across multiple areas. These assessments focus on skills such as fine motor development, social interactions, and emotional regulation, helping to ensure that children are ready for the academic and social demands of school life.
We offer the flexibility to conduct these assessments either individually or for a group of students directly at your location. After the evaluation, we provide targeted strategies and relevant recommendations to both educators and parents, helping to create a supportive and well-prepared environment for each child’s successful start to school.
Support for Primary and High School Students
For older students, our screening services extend to primary and high school levels, focusing on identifying ongoing or emerging needs for occupational therapy. These assessments evaluate academic performance such as handwriting assessment, identifying needs in executive functioning such as ability to manage homework, time management and organisational skills, social interaction skills with peers, emotional regulation & mental well-being. They provide insights that guide interventions to support each student’s success throughout their educational journey.
Small Group Intervention
The third tier of our service framework, Small Group Intervention, is designed to provide targeted support for children with similar needs and goals. These interventions are particularly effective for addressing specific developmental areas such as social skills, emotional regulation, handwriting, and motor development. By working in small groups in their natural environment, children benefit from peer interaction and focused attention, helping them to achieve their therapy goals through a facilitated approach.
Targeted Support for Specific Needs
Our small group interventions focus on specific developmental needs identified by educators and Occupational Therapy evaluations to provide children with the targeted support they require. These sessions are guided by our experienced therapists, who create activities to address the unique goals of each group. Whether focusing on improving social skills, refining handwriting, or enhancing motor development, these interventions are designed to help children make meaningful progress.
Simple Referral Process for Teachers
To ensure that students who need additional or more intensive support are quickly identified, we have a streamlined referral process allowing educators to refer students who may benefit from small group interventions, ensuring they receive the appropriate support promptly. This referral process also includes
identified students who will benefit from one-on-one therapy intervention at our clinic or individual support from our occupational therapist within the school environment.
Collaboration with Teachers During Group Sessions
Collaboration is a critical element of our small-group interventions. Our therapists work closely in liaison with teachers and education aides through collaborative goal setting to deliver these sessions within the classroom setting, ensuring that the strategies and skills taught are reinforced throughout the school day. This collaborative approach helps integrate therapeutic strategies into the students’ everyday learning environment, maximising the impact of the intervention.
